Swiss PGA Tour

GCM hosted the ASGi Swiss Pro Golf Tour 2017 on the 24th to the 25th of July. Following a memorable Pro-Am on Sunday with 80 players, a total of 50 Pros took to the start on Monday morning for the first of two rounds.

The weather was more reminiscent of a British Open, with rain, wind, sunshine and cool temperatures influencing the scoring, around an ecellently prepared course.

On day one, it was Luca Galliano who produced a bogey free 64 (-8), with 8 birdies, to lead the Men by one stroke from Raphael de Sousa who shot 65. With Clara Pietri and Franco Li Puma leading the ladies and seniors respectively, both with a level par 72.

On day two the conditions were testing and eventually it was the 2013 winner Jean-Luc Burnier who won with a score of 7 under, producing the best score of the day a 68, for a one-stroke victory over a trio of players in second place, last years winner Marc Dobias, Raphael de Sousa and Luca Galliano, all on 6 under par.

The ladies winner was decided in a sudden-death play-off, with Valeria Martinolli beating Eva Baraschi. The seniors title went to last years runner-up Franco Li Puma with a 36 hole total of 143, one under par.
All in all we saw 246 birdies and 10 eagles during the two days,

Swiss Professional golf at its finest!
